In addition to sending district winners to the Upper Midwest Regional Competition in Saint Paul, MN,
the Nebraska District offers additional local encouragement awards, including:

• Omaha Opera Guild Award
• Lincoln Friends of Opera Award
• Nebraska District Encouragement Awards in honor of Ky Rohman & in honor of Marge & Jim Hewitt
  

In 2014 Carl "Ky" Rohman was honored for his outstanding support of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions   Following his passing, the Nebraska District master classes held 2014 - 2019, were named as the Carl "Ky" Rohman Memorial Master Class.

The two Nebraksa District Encouragement Awards are now given in Ky's honor (shown below left with his wife Jane, who continues as a District Committee member) & in honor of his successor Marge Hewitt and her husband our former Treasurer Jim Hewitt (shown below right)
